It is the 1st book in the series and many to come after. As mentioned, due to the violence and adult themes featured in the series, it may not be suitable for young readers. Although for those who like or know their classic fairy tales very well, you may be interested to pick up a copy of this alternative re-telling of the tales. I was hooked from Book 1 and have already completed reading up till Book 9. Can't wait for the next installment.
